I was re-editing some images that a client wanted to re-order and was trying to 'save' this image. Originally I underexposed it... That day we had massive clouds, then the sun would peek out, then back in again. I'd have all my settings ready for that particular situation and then it would change on me. And then trying to capture those smiling moments with toddlers, well... you snap when you can!
I ran across this neat little action a while back that basically adds 'sun' to your photograph. I ran it, but then toned it down because it was a little too harsh for this image and voila... No more underexposed image! Aren't his eyes gorgeous?
And what the heck... While I'm sharing some of my editing secrets, I might as well show you what we started with... I'm a little embarrassed to show you the before and normally had his expression not been so great, this would have been a trashed image because of the exposure.
Pretty amazing, huh?!

Can you imagine the photography world without it being digital? I'm glad I get to enjoy all the benefits of it vs. film! Anyway, if you're there tonight remind me to tell you something about your "pots and pans" joke you posted the other day. I got a kick out of that. SOOOOO true!
Wow, what a difference!! I love it! And that little boy---he has his daddy's looks. :)
