That was the day... 10 years ago this past Friday, Kevin and I were married. At the ripe, young age of 21 and 22... And here we are 10 years later. We've definitely had our ups and downs, but I can honestly say that lately we're closer than we've ever been. Ready to continue to follow down that path of growing closer and closer to each other and God.
We celebrated the anniversary by just going to eat at one of our favorite local restaurants (Edohana) and then walking down at the Harbor. It was our first one-on-one date night since we had Caleb! Can you believe it?
My hubby did his usual (something he's done since we met) and hid my card (and I fall for it every time)... This year our little man was holding it... We were driving down the highway to take him to meet my parents and Kevin told me to look at something he was doing. Earlier he had tricked me into thinking he hadn't gotten me a card, saying he needed to stop by WM to pick one out. So when I turned around to see what little man was doing, I definitely wasn't expecting to see him holding my card.
Inside my sweet card was another envelope. Hubby had gotten me something I had wanted for quite some time now. Here's a pic of it...
Except that it'll obviously have the names of the kiddos on it! Well, I had to see what size I'll need, but it'll be here in about 2-3 weeks. Oh and before I forget, hubby also remembered the wine we had on our wedding night and bought the same kind for a little 10 year toast. I probably don't give him much credit most times for being a romantic, but this year he did mighty well. Definitely had me surprised!
So here's to many more anniversaries! I love you, Kevin--forever.
Some interesting facts about our anniversary date: 8/29
- Presidential Elect John McCain's birthday
- VP Elect (can't remember her name) anniversary with her husband
- Hurricane Katrina hit
- Princess Diana was killed (I think it was actually the 28th, but close enough)
I'm sure there are many other facts, but these are the ones that are fresh on the mind. But out of all those facts, it'll never be as important of a fact as the memory that was created when I married my husband!
