Today I met Miss A... She was quite the sweetie and had just as sweet of a big sister. It was fun using some ideas that mom had for the session... I love going outside of my normal routine to get a different look for a session.

Remember Mr. C from back at Christmas time?? Well, he's 3 months old now and quite loved by two people and a furbaby. It's so neat to come to sessions and see how much my baby planners have grown. Mr. C was no exception... He is filling out quite nicely!

Yesterday I met up with Miss K. It was time for her 4 month session... Baby girl was getting sleepy, but you'd never know it from these pictures. She was so good!

My new niece... She is welcomed by a big brother who turned two literally a week after she was born. She tried to give us a run for our money and wanted to just stay awake, but we outlasted her. ;-) Aunt Jill is pretty persistent and not willing to give up my track record of getting all babies to sleep for my sessions.

Another wave of baby planners are graduating. It's just surreal to me that they're already one. I can still picture them at their newborn sessions, all tiny and curled up.

I met up with Mr. D the other day for a few outdoors shots and then some stuff back at his house. He was getting over a double ear infection and teething at the same time, so he wasn't quite himself, but we still managed to get some cute stuff.

His mommy said he loves to read! She's a teacher, so I'm guessing that comes natural.

And she's turning ONE! How can that be? It seems like just yesterday that I met her and her family for the first time. We chose the Arboretum for her session since it was perfect timing with Dallas Blooms. Let me say--it's already beautiful there! I'm ashamed at my yard after seeing what is actually blooming right now. LOL!

A life-time baby planner...

My first session with this new baby planner will take place in late September/early October.

Meet the newest member of the Cornelius family...

We were planning on telling everyone in about a week or so, but we've figured out that the biggest, big sister wasn't able to keep the secret any longer. So rather everyone find out through the grapevine, we're going to go ahead and make it public. So far everything is going well. We go back for more pictures on Friday and I'll try to share since it should be an easier picture to see. I'm having some fairly awful all day sickness, but I'm managing as well as I can. Let's just say that I'll be jumping for joy when I enter the next trimester and this stuff ends!

My business will continue on as planned. As delivery time approaches, I'll be contacting my baby planners to keep them on schedule as well as possible. Then hopefully I'll pick back up where I left off with minimal time off.

We're excited to step into this next adventure and welcome any and all prayers!

Meet the B Family... They are good friends of one of my friends. Dad is leaving soon to go across seas, so they wanted to capture the family to create some lasting memories for him to take with him. They were a precious family and I hope this next year flies for them!

It's always an honor when someone chooses me to photograph their newborn baby... It's even a bigger honor when they contact me to take baby brother/sister's pictures too when they're born. It's just confirmation that what I did the first time for their first child was what they wanted and now they want the same thing for their next child. So thank you! That's the story behind this next baby girl... A little over a year and a half ago, I met her big sister and this past weekend I came back to meet baby sister. She was actually 2 weeks old for our session and she rocked it! I think mom was a little leery since I always warn moms that I'll do what I can, but sometimes it's easier when they're younger--well, not the case with Miss K. She was a pro!

I'm still in awe that big sister was this size not too long ago the first time I met her! And now she has a baby sister... Wow!

Thank you K family--I really do cherish the opportunity to take these portraits for you and I hope you love them as much as I enjoyed taking them. It was great seeing you all again too!

This past weekend I met up with Mr. P for his one year session... We started at Chestnut Square in McKinney for some outdoor stuff and then finished up at his house for some studio stuff and the cake smash. He was all smiles! So cute... I can't believe that I met him a year ago already and he was a preemie even. Doesn't look like much of a preemie anymore, huh?

I was so excited when Mr. J's (a former baby planner) mommy let me know that she was expecting another baby. I'm always sad to see a baby planner graduate and it just makes my day to know that the family wants me to capture those same memories for their next bundle of joy. Plus I get to see the bigger sibling again!

So this is Mr. R. He wanted to give me a run for my money. LOL! He was great, but he had a little awake time that we fought through for a little while. But, once we got past it, we rocked on with the rest of the session.

Thank you S family for putting up with me for the marathon session. I enjoyed chatting with you all and seeing your new addition. He is just as cute as his big brother and I can't wait to watch him grow up.

Yep, that's what I got to do today! And it was so fun... So glad that the roads cleared up enough for me to drive to my shoot this afternoon. I met up with Mr. H who is turning 1 on Tuesday. Wow! Seems like just the other day that I met him at his 3 month session. These last 9 months have flown by--I'm gonna miss him and his big sis! She even colored me a picture for my fridge. How sweet is she?

Today's session was all about Mr. H! We started outside for a little snow action.

I love this one... His stance, his expression, the colors, everything. LOVE IT!

He was trying to be a serious guy here...

But we know he's full of smiles!

Mr. J came back to me for his 6 month session and it was so neat seeing him. He is definitely a Mr. Handsome. Cute little curls, big brown eyes and chubby legs! He tried to hide his smiles, but we managed to get a few out of him. He was just so busy taking in everything that was going on. So cute!

A Blessing for the L Family...

A week ago the L Family was blessed beyond belief... You see their first two boys had a scare at birth and spent some time in the NICU. Especially middle brother... God had His hand on him the whole time, but it was still a scary time for all. Well, when baby brother #3 was on the way, extra precaution was taken from day one. And he came into this world with no complications.

Meet Mr. Aven. He was 5 days old for our session and was a dream to photograph.

Saturday was a big day for Miss K. She had her first birthday party and I got to be there! We set up before the party for a little mini session and then wrapped up with a cake smash. She was a pro!

Today I got to meet up with my C twins... They're 10 months old now! Seriously, how do these baby planners grow up so fast. I can't believe they'll be one in literally two months. Today's session was quite the adventure--I know I personally felt like I had a workout and I'm sure mom did too! She was the one chasing babies while I was shooting away. Dad and big sister did some baby wrestling too. Hehe! In the end, it was quite fun and we got some pretty cute stuff.

Another baby planner has reached her 3 month milestone.. She was quite the doll too! This age is always fun because they're just starting to smile more and then they have a little more head control. It's such a difference from the sleepy, curled up, newborn session.

Mr. W and I met up the other day to capture his 3 month session. I have to say I was quite shocked at how big he has gotten. It makes him seem so tiny at his newborn session! The big guy was a little under the weather, but we still managed to get some cute smiles and expressions out of him.

I met up with my L family again this past weekend to get a few more 'maternity' pictures... We had done a family session back in November for the holidays, but we wanted to capture more traditional maternity pics this time.

An idea mommy wanted to capture... All her men!

Not going to let a little rain slow us down...

Today I met up with Mr. M. He's a mini baby planner and recently turned one. The forecast was only calling for 30% chance of rain and in the afternoon... So we figured we'd be good to go with a morning outdoor shoot. Not so much! Rain! When we woke up! However, Mr. M's mom is a fellow photographer and was willing to chance the rain for some shots. Woo-hoo!

So we ventured off to the nearby downtown for the beginning of our shoot and then finished up at the house.

Thank you Mr. M for being so good! You braved the rain and stuck it out even when naptime came and went.

Hehe! This little guy's family had some great ideas for some shots they'd like to see and I was loving the props they gave me to work with. I love so much about this shoot, but I'm really lovin' how this shot turned out.

Meet Mr. B. He was absolutely, hands down one of the best newborns I've photographed. He was so good! Did not mess up any of my things... Well, he got mommy, but that was it.

Snow Day 2011

It wasn't that long ago last year and our little town in Texas got quite a decent snow fall. I was so happy that my kids got to experience it since snow like that is very rare and doesn't come that often. Imagine my surprise when the forecast called for snow this year too and it was quite significant! Not as much as last year, but still decent enough for playtime. Our district even called a Snow Day today, so yay for staying home and playing. Granted, I'm not one that really enjoys the cold, but the kids sure do!

I'm so glad to get to catch up on all the newborns... I was missing them during my busy season! It's like something was in the water about 10 months ago because today I had the 5th newborn session since Christmas. And I have several more coming up over the next few months.

This is Mr. H. He is one week old, but actually came two weeks early. He was extra sleepy too! His daddy and my brother grew up together, so it was exciting that they contacted me to do his session. Especially since he's one of my newest baby planners--we're going to get to watch him grow over the next year.

Just in time...

Today I met a sweet, sweet family and it was just in time too... You see, Daddy left to go across sees last October (2009), right about the time that mommy found out she was pregnant. He got to come home when she was born, he literally arrived while mommy was in labor. Two short weeks later, he was headed back across sees. Fast forward to this past Christmas and he gets to come home again and see his baby girl. So sweet! And I'm so honored that they contacted me to take their family portraits. Daddy leaves again next week and actually still has 3 years left across seas. However, mommy and baby are in the process of moving with daddy... Fingers crossed that it's a quick process and they get to join him soon!

Okay, on to the pictures from today... It was a beautiful, warmer than usual, January day. So glad too since we didn't have much room for a reschedule. Let me warn you, there's a lot... Many more than I typically share, but I wanted to let daddy see a lot of what we got before he had to leave!

2011 is here! How's it treating you so far? I'm excited for this new year and the things ahead. I'm going to be introducing new things for JC-Originals over the next month or so; be sure to check the website, Facebook and here for the updates.

First off, I wanted to make sure that you see the new Investment page. I've made some changes to my pricing, but I want you all to know that I only changed my session fee and baby plan accordingly. My print prices, collages and cards will stay the same. I love what I do, but first and foremost, I am a mom and wife. So in order to dedicate the time to those needs and still give my sessions the time they need, I have to make these changes. However, I love return clients and want to always thank you for coming back, so be sure to let me know you're coming back and I'll be sure to 'thank-you' for your dedication.

Next, I hope to offer more things to you this year. I'm always on the look-out for new props, new ideas and new products. If you see something you're interested in, drop me a line. I'd love to see what you have in mind.

Anyone want to guess how long this session was? Well, I'll say that it's amazing what you can get in a 15 minute session. LOL! Maybe I should make all my sessions only 30 minutes max. This is Miss K... She's been on the blog a couple other times, but today's goal was to get some shots for her one year birthday invitation. Wonder how many we can fit on one card? Hehe! It might be hard to narrow these down--she was just too cute!

Today I photographed the last baby of my baby-palooza for 2010! If you've been following the blog, you'll see that I've had the honor of photographing 4 new babies the last three days. And I've loved every moment of it! This is Miss A. She was a petite little girl and slept so good! Well, until daddy got home and she decided to adorn him with some fun stuff. LOL! We stuck it out and got the family pictures though!

Big sister was such a good helper too! She helped me with all my bows, held my blankets when I needed to, even kept me company while baby sister took a break to eat. Definitely enjoy doing this! Meeting new families, big sisters, big brothers, four-legged siblings, etc. LOL! Love it!

This little guy's momma is an old high school friend. I was quite excited when she emailed me to let me know that she was expecting after many, many years of waiting for another baby. You see, this little guy's big brother is 13! Just from my short visit yesterday, I can tell that he is a great big brother. He has taken his new job with pride!

First, let me tell you a little background... You've actually met this family a couple times now. Back in the spring we did a family session with their furbabies... Then, just recently we did the maternity session. I think I have told the story before, but basically I grew up next door to the daddy of this baby. He is one of my brother's closest friends. So, yesterday I got to take Miss TK's first portraits. She was a dream... So sweet!

Come back soon, because not only do I have more newborns to share, Miss TK will be featured again later this week. Her daddy was working during our shoot, so we're going to sneak in a few pics this weekend to complete their session.

Not even two weeks ago, the B family contacted me for a newborn session. You see, the B family was given the opportunity to adopt a beautiful baby boy and she was letting me know that he was coming that very next week. They have quite a neat story, but basically they have wanted to have kids for many years now and was pretty much coming to the realization that it might not happen until Mrs. B got a call. And that call was that this little guy was coming soon (6 weeks to be exact) and they needed to get ready because he would be coming home with them.

Meet Mr. C... He was a dream to photograph. He slept from the moment I got there and until I left. We were done in under an hour and a half!

So the other day I met up with one of my baby planners... It's so neat that I have several that are all within the same timeframe of their baby plan. It's fun to watch them grow up at the same time. Well, Mr. J here is one of the smiliest of them all. He woke up from a nap, got his clothes on and was ready to go!

Miss L is almost one, so we spent a little bit of time together this weekend to capture some shots for her 1st Birthday Invites. She was such the trooper because it was cold! We were fast though, so the Little Miss didn't have to be out there for long...

Remember the adoption homecoming shoot I did recently? Well, I met up with the new family over the weekend to capture their first family photoshoot. It was so fun! I love being a part of these memories...

Okay, so it's a big sneak peek. I just couldn't help it. There were so many fun moments captured that I had a hard time not sharing them. It's amazing how much babies change in just 3 months! The last time we saw Miss C, she was just a brand new baby girl... Now, she's approaching 3 months old and so alert! She's quite the sweet, petite and pretty little girl.

Okay, first off, I have to say that baby piggies are just the cutest thing. Don't you think?

Saturday I slipped in a quick session with my wonderful C family... Last year's holiday session was with Mr. B just a bump in mommy's belly and this year, he's almost 11 months old! His first Christmas! Which is bitter sweet because he's almost one and that means the end of his baby plan soon... I can never believe that an entire year has passed when the baby plan is coming to an end! Okay, enough of that! On to the holiday session...

A year later...

I met Mr. B a little over a year ago for his newborn session. I was so excited when momma contacted me for a one year session. Cannot believe that it's already been a year! It was so neat to see how much he's changed.

Mr. B was an active little guy, but gosh, he's been walking since he was 10 months old. He's had lots of practice! We opted for a short outdoor session and then the rest back at the house, which included a cake smash!

Love his little walk! He was walking everywhere.

Oh and I can't leave without passing the 'Most Enthusiastic Dad' award to Mr. B's dad. I didn't actually see what he was doing, but it sure sounded like he was being quite the silly daddy. Oh, the things we'll do for our kids to get them to smile!

I haven't seen Mr. D since he was 3 months old, so it was exciting to go visit him and see how much he's grown up the past 6 months. He's almost 9 months old! He was just Mr. Smiley (despite a couple boo-boos!).

Well, my brother's family! Saturday morning I met up with my brother and his family to do some pics for them. Mr. B has been on the blog several times, so I'm sure you might recognize him. He has a special request this time... That his cousins (my kids) could be there! So we made this a family event. LOL!

Yesterday I met a little guy that was a tad bit shy. He was actually getting over an ear infection and had fallen asleep on his way to the shoot. It took a little warming up, but he gave us some smiles. He really loved it when his daddy would throw leaves at him. Such a boy thing!

Thank you T family! I hope the little guy continues to get better and isn't feeling yucky anymore. I enjoyed meeting you all!

The N Family! Seriously... This family gets the award for the most photogenic family. Their boys are amazingly cooperative and so sweet to each other and everyone around them. I'm sure they can be boys, like all boys can, but I was quite impressed with them. They were especially sweet at baby sister's newborn session a few months back, but they were just as sweet at this session.

Meet Beckett...

And his family (and sorry family if I've misspelled his name)! I should've asked when we were together. Mr. B is 2 years old and is actually a rescue dog. It's so sad what he went through as a young guy, but after seeing this family, it goes to show you that happy endings do happen. He is happy, healthy and completely adored by his family.

Thank you N family! I enjoyed meeting you and love Mr. Beckett! He is such a great little guy. I hope one day to have a family member like him!

This session was almost deemed a rain-out TWICE... But, when we heard about the possible 2nd rain-out, we got smart and rescheduled before the rain came. Luckily it worked out for everyone's schedule and we made it happen.

Meet the C family... They have 2 girls and a boy like us, except their children happen to be about a year younger than all of mine.

Thank you C family... Even if the forecast is wrong and it doesn't rain tomorrow--I'm glad we reschedule because the weather was perfect! It was a beautiful session.

And he brought his family this time! Mr. H's session fell at the perfect time to add some family shots in... So we took advantage of it and went with it! He was definitely a busy boy, but we managed to capture him at just the right moments.

Earlier this week, I got the honor of photographing a little boy's homecoming... You see, he was adopted by two wonderful people that I know from church and they asked me to capture their return at the airport. It was exciting see see everyone's anticipation as they waited! I even got a little teary eyed when they did make their appearance. Welcome Home Mr. B!

Congrats S family! Mr. B is one handsome little guy and I'm so happy for you all. I adore people who take the step of adoption. Such a wonderful thing to do! One of my nephews came to our family through adoption, so I'm grateful for people like you...

Yesterday I met up with my favorite L family... We've been friends forever, got married within two weeks of each other, had our first babies within 2 months of each other and now they are joining us in the zone defense area--3 kids with 2 parents!

Thank you L family for meeting up with me... The boys did wonderful and are going to be such great big brothers!

Yesterday was a day of baby girls... I had the first two at the Arboretum and then I went to meet this sweet baby girl that was born just 8 days ago. Her parents were just on the blog a couple of weeks ago.

Baby girl was so good! She tried to stay awake at first, but with a little more milk and a lot of warm heat she was out.

I also got to meet Miss K today at the Arboretum... It was my first time to meet her actually. I've actually known her daddy for many, many years--he was doing the guy thing today though (opening day of deer season)! I guess we'll forgive him this time, it was fun having the entire session be just for Miss K.

She has got some of the prettiest eyes! They are so big and such a deep color... It doesn't hurt that she is one pretty little girl too. Watch out daddy! We met first thing this morning at the Arboretum--it was just a tad chilly I might say, but she was quite the trooper. Crazy that a week ago I was there in capris, short sleeves and flip-flops!

Oh and quick disclaimer... It's busy, busy time right now and then add in me going out of town in less than two days and I had to really narrow down my favs this time. I wanted to get something out to share with you all though!

Thank you H family for braving the cold! I hope Miss R enjoyed the rest of her trip at the Arboretum without being too cold.

Mr. J here was all dudded up in his 'tux' shirt. Ready for his shoot! Ha! So cute... He tried to give mommy & daddy a run for their money, but I think they'll be surprised at all the cuteness that was captured. You might hear a rumor out there that he cried and didn't want to be put down, but you sure can't tell from our sneak peek. Yay!

That's what this little guy was doing... Reminds me of my little guy so much--always on the go! That's probably why I do this--I know how hard it can be to get pics of my busy boy and strive to be able to capture them when they can't. This is Mr. L--he's a baby planner graduate and it's so neat to see him as a little boy. I can still vividly see him as a newborn and here he is running all over the place and talking!

What a fun session! Oh and I hadn't been to this location in oh, 2 years, so it was fun going there again and discovering all the little spots I had never seen before. Thank you, R family!

Mr. J is almost 2 and he's going to be a big brother really soon. He was such a sweet little guy! And goodness, such a good talker for not quite two. I'm sure he's going be a grand big brother for mommy & daddy!

Thank you Mr. J! I enjoyed meeting you, your mommy, your daddy and your soon to be brother or sister. You see--Mr. J's parents are letting this baby be a surprise. Mr. J was a surprise when he was in mommy's tummy. So neat! I wish I had that kind of willpower--so fun!

I'm always up for new places and when my photographer-friend, Ashlee suggested this place, I was all for it. Why not? You see, we swap holiday sessions and if she 'sees' something in a location, then I trust her eye. And most places you'd never think of are actually hidden gems for photography. Even cemeteries! Yep--we were at a cemetery. Well, right outside the entrance, but heck, it worked!

See for yourself! Oh and Ashlee--I sure hope I was able to capture what you were looking for... It's always a little nerve-jostling when you're shooting another photographer. ;-)

Almost didn't happen...

Yep--this session almost didn't happen. The forecast was calling for thunderstorms all day... 80% coverage! We decided to make the trek and head over to the planned destination and see what the weather would do. So far, so good. Almost time for my client to be there and wham--it starts to sprinkle, then it starts to rain. Ugh!

We went back and forth a bit while the rain went off and on--and then finally decided to just tough it out and see what would happen. And amazingly it stopped raining and we were able to get what we wanted! Woo-hoo! Success!

Today I met a cute Little Man and his Momma... He plays soccer and even got a medal for being a fast runner! He was quite the fun little guy too--smiled when he needed to and ran around when we were going from spot to spot. Not bad for a big guy like him!

I seriously can't. I go through a session trying to narrow down my favorites for a sneak peek and wind up with 20+ images! I tell parents that their sneak peek will have about 5-10 of my favorites and every single time I go over. Oops! Oh well...

Mr. W was no exception. He was a dream baby to be honest. Slept and slept and slept. Woke up, little snack to top him off and he was out again. ~~Minor~~ MAJOR accident on dad and he was out again. Sorry, Dad!
